Nature of Work:

Set up workstations, take orders at tables, serve food and beverages, total guest checks and present to guests, handle cash transactions, and clean workstations.

Some Examples of Work:

Making coffee, pouring tea. Taking orders using proper procedure, abbreviations, etc. Bringing food and beverages to table at proper time, using proper procedure. Checking on customer. Taking care of additional needs: condiments, beverages, dessert, etc. Totaling guest check, taking money, and giving change. Putting materials in proper place. Cleaning work areas. Maintaining and wearing proper uniform.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Table numbers chair numbers menu-descriptions writing tickets properly abbreviations keeping track of several tables prices carrying trays dealing with customers cleanliness and organization

Minimum Preparation for Work:

Training sessions general table service specific table service menus breakfast lunch opening/closing procedures money transactions Experience in table service
