Nature of Work:

Job Summary: In conjunction with the Associate Director for Programs, assume major responsibility for the management of the Lory Student Center Information Desk.

Job Responsibilities:

-Assist in hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating student staff employed at the Desk
-Schedule coverage
-Maintain (update periodically) Information Desk Staff Manual
-Coordinate reservations for Activities Center area, Cave, Sunken Lounge and Plaza display cases
-Maintain Student Center bulletin, buy/sell and ride boards
-Gather and organize appropriate materials for Information Desk information bank
-Establish and implement key checkout authorizations for Information Desk staff; Cave lockers/offices/Cave and Plaza display cases; Photo and Pottery Labs
-Maintain supply of change and stamps at Desk -Coordinate mail distribution and mailbox assignments
-Maintain daily update of "Campus Source," computerized information board installed adjacent to the Information Desk

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Good organization and administrative skills
Supervisory experience (helpful, but not required)
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
Ability to work with a diverse University public:
students, staff, faculty, and guests Good working knowledge of the University and the Fort Collins' community

Minimum Preparation for Work:

Currently enrolled as an upperclass student
Been employed at the Information Desk (helpful, but not required)
