Nature of Work:

This work is created at registration periods when large numbers of students are served by the Office of Admissions and Records. It involves few clerical skills, but attention to details and checking of registration forms for accuracy and completion. This position is distinguished from the general clerical series within the state classified system (specifically Clerical Asst. A), by the fact that the terms of employment are extremely short-term in nature, with minimum training and responsibility required.

Some Examples of Work:

Manning registration tables to disseminate and collect student registration materials. Setting up and tearing down of registration areas before and after registration evolutions. Operation of photo ID cameras. Controlling of student access to and exit from registration areas.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ability to hear, read, and follow instructions related to registration activities. Ability to give instructions to students registering. Ability to check registration forms in some detail to find errors and correct.

Minimum Preparation for Work:

Participation in CSU registration Knowledge of University system (i.e. calendar, credits, quality points, course symbols, etc.)
