Nature of Work:

These positions perform duties requiring limited decision-making responsibilities, critical thinking, and problem solving within the limits of department policy and procedures. Judgment is necessary to identify and apply existing guidelines. Employees in these positions train others, are first line customer service responders, firstline disciplinarians, and team lead workers. Employees may perform multiple duties in a variety of equivalent positions within Campus Recreation in any of the following: Informal Recreation Program, Intramural Sports Program, Club Sports Program, Strength & Fitness Program, Outdoor Adventure Program, Challenge Course, Instructional Program, Membership Service Desk, Fiscal, Custodial, and Maintenance areas.

Some Examples of Work:

investigate/report incidents or accidents, daily cash reconciliation/deposits, address customer service/guest relation issues, Indoor/Outdoor

safety and security inspection/documentation, employee supervision, address eligibility issues, schedule employees for area of responsibility

daily equipment inventory/reconciliation, assign daily equipment operator tasks/schedules, perform preventative maintenance

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

CPR/First Aid/AED certification, sport officiating certification, fiscal operations experience, machine/equipment operator experience, customer service representative experience. Hiring authority determines prerequisites for each specific position at this level, which vary dependent on program or job.

Minimum Preparation for Work:

Prior related work experience, skills, and/or certification required. Mandatory employee training must be completed.
