Nature of Work:

This class series describes work preparing for entry into a specific class series in Labor Trades and Crafts Occupational Group. Positions perform tasks that are structured and designed to provide training and experience in the appropriate LTC occupation. Tasks are performed under direct supervision and detailed instruction and guidance is received. Employees in these classes learn to apply established practices and methods directly related to the assignment.

Some Examples of Work:

Actual tasks performed could vary greatly from department to department.
Some examples would be:
-General labor, landscape maintenance
-General farm labor, cleaning stalls, haying animals, harvesting crops, watering plants, etc.
-General building maintenance, sweeping floors, removal and placement of equipment
-Checking equipment in and out of storeroom, within a specified check-out system and under supervision from a regular employee
-Set up and clean up of lab areas

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Ability to follow written and oral directions. Physical stamina to perform moderately difficult physical labor.
