Microsoft Teams - Live Events

Teams Meetings vs Live Events

Teams Meetings: Recommended for 250 or fewer attendees. Teams meetings can be scheduled from Outlook/Outlook Web App by any CSU faculty, staff or students who are using Office 365 for e-mail. Teams meetings can be attended by both CSU and guest users and also recorded when applicable.

Live Events: Intended for events with more than 250 attendees. The ability to schedule Live Events is available upon request. A requestor takes on the role of the Live Event organizer and is responsible for scheduling and facilitating Live Events. Organizing a Live event includes scheduling the event and managing producer and presenter roles. During a broadcast, Live Event content is subject to a 15-to-60 second delay between when information is presented and attendees see it.

Requesting Access to Schedule Live Events

The ability to schedule Live Events in Teams is available upon request. As an initial step ACNS recommends engaging your local IT support as there may already be a Live Event organizer for your area. To submit a request to organize Live Events using Teams, please e-mail help@colostate.edu with the following information included:

  1. eNames of user(s) who will schedule and organize Live Events in Teams
  2. General description and frequency of Live Events you anticipate scheduling
Note: CSU is limited to 15 concurrent Live Events at any one time. The opt-in process helps to ensure availability for everyone!
