Adult Learner/Student Parent/Veteran Success Program (SSP)

  • Personalized program with one-on-one consultation sessions to create a plan best suited for your personal and educational success
  • Helps find the right resources to aid in your academic success

Math on Track (MOT)

  • Weekly sessions for students taking online math courses
  • Sessions provide guidance to keep you on track and additional tutoring time

Math and Writing Refresher Books

  • Borrow the math or writing preparation book to make sure your skills are at college level before (or during!) a composition or math course.
  • $20 deposit required – will be returned when you return the book

iClicker Loan

  • We loan out iClickers on a semester basis (see your required course materials to find out if you need one)
  • $20 deposit required – will return it when you return the iClicker

Library Orientation

  • 1 1/2 hour session to familiarize you with the resources available at the CSU Library
  • There are usually 3 sessions around the beginning of each semester. Dates TBA

Study Group Initiative

  • We will match you with other ALVS students in your classes to create study groups
  • Calculus, Math, Psychology, Engineering, biology, etc.

Women Back in School

  • A time to chat with our Success Coach and other women returning to school too
  • A relaxed group that helps create community and give support

Veterans Group

  • a time to chat with our Success Coach and other veterans returning to school too
  • A relaxed group that helps create community and give support

Older Wiser Life Loving Students (OWLLS) - Non Traditional Club

  • Social group for adult learners – dinner, dancing, hiking, and other fun events

Student Veteran Organization

  • Meets weekly to help with vet-centric activities and community events

Education to Employment

  • Resume help, referrals for employment, job searches specifically for veterans, interview and networking techniques
  • Visit Sharon Lindell at our ALVS office to find out more about veteran employment

Workshops

  • Various workshops are put on throughout the semester to include: stress management, time management and financial planning/management

ALVS Ambassador Program

  • Represent ALVS on panels, at presentations and personal interviews. Make sure your voice as an adult learner is heard in the wider CSU community

Volunteer for Veteran Day 5K run

  • Saturday, November 9, CSU Oval, 7 am – 12 pm
  • Help us to plan, set-up, facilitate day of registration, be a course marshal, man the finish line and clean-up. 
  • This event raises funds for a scholarship for CSU student veterans

SVO/ALVS Coordinating Committee

  • Plan and coordinate various events throughout the year to bring together the veteran, CSU, and Fort Collins communities

ALVS Advisory Board

  • Provide feedback and suggestions about ALVS services and programs. 
  • Board meets monthly meetings at a date and time to be announced

LSC Governing Board – ALVS Representative

  • Be an advocate for yourself and other adult learners as the ALVS representative to the Lory Student Center governing board
  • Meetings are bi-monthly and discuss issues related to LSC policies and procedures
