Tania
PROGRAM ASSISTANT

I am a Psychology undergraduate who anticipates working with Drug and Alcohol treatment and PTSD patients. After I graduate next year I will be continuing on to get my Master’s degree in Psychology here at CSU. I currently work in the ALVS office which has been my on campus home since I started at CSU in 2010. Being a single mother of three it is nice to have the support in the ALVS office, and I am excited to be able to further contribute to the support of others by working there. My current primary project at ALVS is being on the International Children’s Carnival Committee. My other interests include working with the Family Leadership Training institute of Larimer County developing my community project and learning how to become a family leader. In addition, I enjoy doing things with my children such as hiking, fishing, and playing sports like soccer and baseball. I tend to keep pretty busy, so I sure do enjoy the little breaks we get from time to time.

SPECIAL PROJECTS / PROGRAM REVIEW

Hi, I am from Omaha, NE, but have lived in a couple different areas of the United States including Texas, Hawaii, and California. I enlisted in the Marine Corps immediately following high school in June of 2006. After two deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan and five years of service, I separated from active duty in June of 2011. I decided to attend Colorado State to earn my B.S. in Natural Resources Management with a minor in Spatial Information Management. I plan on pursuing a M.S. in Geographic Information Systems. I hope to help find new ways to carefully utilize our natural resources in the most efficient way possible, while still focusing on the conservation and stewardship of our natural resources. During my free time, I enjoy being outside and spending time with my beautiful wife, Kelsey.

SPECIAL PROJECTS / OUTREACH AND ASSESSMENT

I am a junior with a Social Work major here at CSU. While I was in the Army I was stationed in the 82nd Airborne! I have some family out in Kansas and up in Wyoming but the only family I live with is my beagle, Charlie. As an employee I work to help with outreach to the ALVS community. I like pretty much anything in the mountains but my favorites for the seasons are snowboarding in the winter and camping in the summer.

SPECIAL PROJECTS / 5K COORDINATOR

I am from Boulder, CO with a family that is extended out across the States. I joined the Marine Corps right out of high school. In 2010, after 5 years and 2 combat deployments I decided to get out of the Corps and go back to school. I am now a junior with an Agriculture Business major and engaged to be married this summer. In the ALVS office I am responsible for coordinating the Memorial and Veteran Day 5K runs. In my spare time I enjoying running, working out and playing rugby or hockey when I have the time.

ADMINISTRATIVE

I’m an Army brat, so I’m from Houston originally, but home is now in Colorado Springs with my family. Currently I’m an English Education major, and I already have a B.A. in Art History, but I hope to teach both at the high school level when I graduate. I love playing volleyball, and lately I’ve taken up hiking and learning how to ski as a way to explore my new home state. I’m also a major reader, so I can usually be counted on for a good book recommendation or two!
